Type "D" Buttplate
This buttplate exactly replicates one of the styles used on so-called "Type D" French trade guns. Available with both brass and iron mounts, these weapons were widely traded in the 1730-1760 era. Examples of the many variants of this style can be seen in T.M. Hamilton's Colonial Frontier Guns. Many French trade guns were restocked into American fowlers. Dimensions: 4 3/4" high x 2" wide x 5 1/4" top extension. #0852 (B) #0853 (I)
